On August 5, 2008, uber ultra-runner Karl Meltzer set off on the biggest race of his life. His challenge: to run the entire length of the 2,174-mile Appalachian Trail in less than 47 days. Definitely daunting. Absolutely grueling. Probably insane. But when he does it, he’ll rule the AT as the guy who conquered it, all of it, the fastest on two feet. This is going to be Man vs. Nature, Man vs. Self, Man vs. Clock – and it’s going to be good.
No actuals yet.

I don't have the final finish time yet. Knowing Karl, I'm sure that after two tries to reach me atop Springer early, early this morning, he got frustrated, threw the phone into a pile of uneaten PBJs on the table, and went to bed. I have messages in to Billy and Cheryl and I'm positive that one of them will call me as soon as everyone wakes up and they have cell service. Until then, we'll have to wait patiently for the actuals on Karl's thru hike, to find out exactly how long it took him. I hope they're still sleeping.

Congrats to the whole Where is Karl team!
Congrats to all of you which helped Karl to get through the AT.
4th fasted performance on the AT as a multiday rookie.
That is something you can be proud of.
I guess it was a lot of work, long hours not much sleep.
You all did a great job.
And of course:
Congrats Karl !
You "only" had to run and you did that pretty good. You had some really tough days but you never quit. Which was very important. Well done Karl.
Markus
And next time you will destroy the record, I am pretty sure.
'Destroy' the record? "When
'Destroy' the record?
"When will they ever learn? When will they ever learn?"
